Survival Signalling
If you’re lost in nature, knowing how to call for help can make all the difference. In this practical session, you will explore:
Participants get to build, test, and experiment with different signalling methods to discover what works best in the wild.
Paperchase Tracking Trail
Become a woodland detective! Participants craft natural trail markers using sticks, leaves, and other forest finds. Vibrant painted twigs form arrows that guide the way, and each checkpoint holds a challenge identify the mystery leaf using your Leaf ID Sheet. Can your team follow the clues and stay on the right trail?
Sand Imprinting Challenge
Step into our sand tracking zone and test your observation skills. Students study footprints left behind by their teammates and sometimes animals to work out who or what has moved through the area.
It’s a fun and hands-on way to learn how expert trackers read the ground.
Woodland Games & Exploration
Mini-Beast Safaris
Venture into the undergrowth to discover beetles, bugs, and all the tiny creatures that call the woodland home.
Bird & Tree ID Challenges
Learn to identify our feathered friends and woodland giants by their calls, leaves, and bark. Become a true forest detective!
Parachute Playtime
Whip up a woodland storm! Shake the parachute, launch leaves into the air, and watch the forest come alive with colour.
String Spider Web Game
Form a human web! Each person shares something about themselves—those who say “me too!” catch the string and pass it on. By the end, everyone is connected.
Squirrel Stash Quest
Hide, seek, and remember! Collect colourful nuts, cones, and acorns, hide your own cache, and return later to see what you can find. Who will become the Ultimate Woodland Squirrel?
Creeping Up
Can you tiptoe silently through the trees? Sneak up while the searcher looks away—but freeze when they turn around!
Nature Creativity
